Hi, may I check if there a way to add a grade that does not affect the GPA, please?

My school would like to support the following 2 cases
1) students who take the course in audit (as opposed to credit). i.e. they are not graded on it (does not affect GPA) but it should still be reflected as being taken by them in the Database. However we don't want it to be reflected in any academic reports, is this possible?
2) a CAPSTONE course which does not affect GPA but rather has a Pass or Fail grade

Attempts at resolution:
- I read through all the docs in documentation but the most relevant material which I think could be a solution is under Helpful Tips PDF which says "if a teacher wants to excuse a student from an assignment, he can enter an asterisk (*) in the field for the assignment’s grade, in the Gradebook > Grades program.". I tried to enter an asterisk for the input final grade but it doesn't allow me to save it

If you want a single student's final grade to not count in the cumulative GPA, leave it empty and enter a comment (Grades > Input Final Grades).

If you want final grades to not count in the cumulative GPA, you can assign 0 Credits to the course period (Scheduling > Course).

Another possibility is to set a 0 Scale Value for the grading scale (Grades > Grading Scales).

thank you for the prompt response as well as for the alternatives! its defintely better knowing these few ways exist.
